AUDITION NOTICE & CASTING CALL for“A FAMILY CHRISTMAS - AIN’T NO VACATION"

AUDITIONS WHEN SUN., AUG. 27, @ 5 - 7 P.M.; & MON., AUG. 28, @ 7 - 9 P.M.; AND ALSO ON: THURS., SEPT. 7, @ 7 - 9 PM; SAT., SEPT 9 @ 10 AM – 12:30 PM. WHERE 240 Chalfonte Ave., Grosse Pointe Farms Congregational Church 1st Fl.
SYNOPSIS: “A Family Christmas – Ain’t No Vacation” Stage adaption, with an added Ensemble Chorus (think Greek Choir), of everyone’s favorite classic 1989 movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”, written by John Hughes and directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, created and performed exclusively for Fine Arts members and guests. Clark Griswold is on a quest to give his family the best ‘good old-fashioned family Christmas’, even if it kills him. Through his dogged determination and with reluctant ‘help’ from his wife, kids, and quirky relatives, he may just succeed. Classic Christmas songs with new fun lyrics, sung by an Ensemble Chorus help to smooth the way.
PERFORMANCE DATES NOV. 17th – 19h (Fri., Sat. at 8 p.m. and a Sun. 2 p.m. matinee), in the historic Players Theatre 2231 Jefferson Ave., Detroit. CAST A large cast - males and females of all ages and types both acting-only roles and singing parts for 2 characters and the Ensemble/Chorus. See attached page for more info.

• Clark "Sparky" Griswold, Jr. – [Lead] Affable, accident prone, wannabe Griswold family patriarch, hoping for a house decorated for Christmas that will be the stuff of legends, but always over his head in life. • Ellen Griswold* - Clark’s wife, truly is better half, hostess for the Griswold’s Christmas celebration. [ACTING & SINGING - 1 song]• Audrey Griswold - Teenage daughter of Clark & Ellen.• Russ Griswold - Teenage son of Clark & Ellen.• Clark W. [ACTING & SINGING - 1 song]• Frank Shirley [Mr. ‘S’] - Clark’s wealthy, curmudgeon boss, the company CEO.• Helen Shirley* - Frank’s wife.• Mary* - (Attractive/sexy) Lingerie salesperson in mall lingerie shop, turns out she is also Frank Shirley’s daughter.• Bill* - Clark’s work friend.• Mail Delivery-person*. - • The Family Christmas Chorus and ensemble roles – SINGING required for Chorus, Ensemble roles include: lumberjacks, Mr. Shirley’s entourage, sledders, shoppers, and SWAT Team.
